We are seeking a candidate with strong teaching skills and an active research agenda who can strengthen the department specifically in the areas of statistics and actuarial math, and contribute to teaching entry-level math courses.
Teach the equivalent of a full seven-course load per year, including some combination of the following: Probability and Statistics, Applied Statistics, Calculus 1, Calculus 2, Multivariable Calculus, courses in actuarial math and possibly other areas, depending on specialties and departmental needs. Maintain an ongoing program of research, mentor and advise student research projects, and contribute to departmental programming. General faculty responsibilities will include undergraduate student academic advising and committee assignments.
Effective teaching of mathematics to undergraduate majors and non-majors; strong leadership of students in research; mathematical modeling and usage of statistical software. Actuarial mathematics is desirable.
Some teaching at the undergraduate level preferred.
Ph.D. in Statistics, Mathematics, Applied Mathematics, or a closely related field that includes a substantial amount of statistics.
Salary and rank commensurate on experience and qualifications.
