  • Job Summary

    The COAMFTE-accredited Marital and Family Therapy and Mental Health Counseling programs at Bethel Seminary San Diego (Bethel University) invite applications for a tenure-track faculty position at the advanced assistant or the associate professor level beginning Fall 2018. As a faith-based institution, Bethel's MFT/MHC programs emphasize integration of faith into clinical practices and teaching. The MFT/MHC programs have approximately 60 students for which the professor will teach graduate-level courses. The professor will also be required to direct the clinical training portion of the programs. 

    Responsibilities

    • Teaching marital and family therapy graduate courses
    • Directing the clinical training portion of the programs
    • Supervising graduate marital and family therapy and mental health counseling practicum students
    • Maintaining research in the field of family therapy and mental health counseling
    • Providing service to the university and the field of marital and family therapy through state, regional, and national associations

    Skills

    We seek a faculty member who demonstrates a commitment to social justice and posseses strong interpersonal and collaboration skills.

    Education

    • Ph.D. in Marriage and Family Therapy from a COAMFTE-accredited program
    • AAMFT Clinical Fellowship and Approved Supervisor Status
    • Eligibility for California licensure as an LMFT

    Additional Information

    The position will be available August 1, 2018. Screening of applicants will begin immediately and continue until the position is filled. Salary commensurate with qualifications and experience.
