Job Summary
Faculty position teaching in clinical, laboratory, and/or didactic courses working with undergraduate students in a BSN nursing program. Courses are delivered predominately face-to-face. This position will include a primary teaching focus of medical/surgical nursing. A sub-specialty is preferred, but not required. Faculty may also teach similar content in the Post-Bacc BSN program.
Responsibilities
• Teaching in classroom and clinical settings, specifically medical/surgical nursing, teaching clinical/lab in specialty or sub-specialty area.
• Teaching in the nursing skills and simulation labs.
• Online teaching of skills and/or didactic content and clinical in the Post-Bacc BSN program as needed.
• Evaluation of students in classroom, clinical, and skills settings, including performance exams.
• General faculty responsibilities include involvement in the activities of the department and university (i.e., participation in teaching teams and committees).
• Contribute to an academic environment that seeks to advance inclusive excellence in the department and the discipline

Experience
• A minimum of three years clinical experience in medical/surgical nursing is necessary; clinical experience in an additional nursing specialty is preferred, but not required.
• Previous experience as a nurse educator in an academic setting or as a preceptor of students or new nursing employees would be an asset.
• Previous experience working with diverse individuals or groups is preferred.
Education
A master’s degree in nursing is required, doctoral degree or significant progress toward completion of a doctoral degree is preferred. A clinical focus with practice in medical/surgical nursing care settings is necessary. Current Minnesota RN licensure or eligibility required.
