Job Summary

Faculty position teaching in didactic and/or clinical courses working with graduate students in the nurse-midwifery program. Courses are all online,
with two on-campus intensives each year. Faculty to also participate and contribute towards the greater work of the nurse-midwifery program, including but not limited to the following: reviewing admissions applications and conducting interviews; attending faculty, program, and department meetings; preparing for accreditation site visits; evaluating program policies, vetting clinical sites, and participating in keeping course content updated to reflect current best practice.

Responsibilities

  • Teaching in fully online, asynchronous courses.
  • Attending the two on-campus, three-day intensives and one virtual, three-day intensive each year. Intensive responsibilities will include teaching
    nurse-midwifery hands-on skills, lecturing, participating in clinical simulations, evaluating performance exams, and facilitating panel discussions.
  • Maintaining relationships with partner clinical sites, including assisting in vetting new and ongoing sites.
  • Willingness to precept students at their current clinical practice setting.
  • Periodically contributing to program accreditation efforts.
  • General faculty responsibilities include involvement in the activities of the program, department, and university (e.g., faculty meetings, committee
    assignments, participating in the admissions process through application reviews and interviews, and attending graduation).
  • Contributing to an academic environment that seeks to advance diversity and inclusive excellence in the program and midwifery.

Experience

  • A minimum of 1 year of clinical experience in midwifery practice is required.
  • Plans to continue to practice as a nurse-midwife is preferred.
  • Previous experience as an educator in an academic setting or as a clinical preceptor for midwifery students would be an asset.

Education

Required: Master’s degree in Nursing, prepared to pursue a doctoral degree
Preferred: Doctoral degree relevant to nurse-midwifery
Current Certification as a nurse-midwife through AMCB
Current Minnesota RN and APRN licensure or eligibility

Additional Information

Compensation: We are open to hiring an Assistant, Associate or Full Professor for this position. The range for an Assistant Professor is $55,599 - $70,043, Associate Professor is $62,927 - $84,168 and Full Professor is $77,265 - $95,904.
