Job Summary

Teach MUS 305G Music in World Cultures, a 4-credit Music course that meets a general education requirement. At Bethel, we offer classes that are 1, 2 or 4 credits. Adjunct load will vary based on capabilities of the Adjunct Professor and needs of the department. We pay $1,250 per credit hour for in-person courses.

 

Responsibilities

● Teach MUS 305G Music in World Cultures, an introductory study of cultural traditions, belief systems, and practices of world cultures through the study and             analysis of the music of ethnic groups.
● Draw up a syllabus and maintain a course Moodle page.
● Teach the class in person, grade assignments and tests, and support students as needed to promote their learning.

Skills

● Ability and interest in teaching undergraduate students.
● Ability to explain complex musical and cultural concepts.

 

Experience

Previous college teaching experience preferred.

Education

Master’s degree in Music or related field required; PhD preferred.
